Will the ‘Highs’ come back

I am going to do W9r2 today. I used to have a fab extra little bit of energy atleast once a week and would run faster at the end of my run but since last three runs ... no high!! I am doing the time fine, achieving around 4.5k but not getting the wee bit extra energy at the end 😟 I do have a bit of cold and trouble breathing... would love to hear your experiences. Need a little push today, thanks 🌻

If you’re battling a cold, it’s impressive enough to be finishing the runs... your immune system is using energy, oxygen saturation is probably a little down... go easy on yourself here. It’ll all come back to normal a few days after your symptoms clear up.

Thanks, I didn’t think a wee cold will effect me so much! You are right about saturation levels, I found it difficult to breath as I started my runs, normally after my walk I am raring you go

There you go then... I don’t think a high can come when it’s such a battle... but you can be very proud of getting out there and running.

Thanks, I never thought I would like it so much. On run days I can’t think of anything else until I have done my run! Plan my route the night before and was really loving the feeling... the wee cold has taken that way just now. I am soo looking forward to graduating this week and hopefully getting the highs back soon. You encouraging words are much appreciated 😊

I would imagine you’ve probably reached the cusp of your current fitness level, I wouldn’t worry, your fitness will keep building the more you run 😊
