Treated myself to a new route today to keep the momentum going. It started with an uphill warm up walk which meant the rest of the run was mostly downhill. Why didn’t I try this route 2 weeks ago?
The first 10 mins were the best yet.....no hills to drag myself up and a nice downhill where I felt like I was racing a cheetah......Ok maybe not a cheetah.....actually not even a sleepy, couldn’t be bothered cat but I was moving faster than I have outside of a car for quite some time!
Must have got a bit carried away with the hill as the next 5 mins I needed to slow down for a bit of leg recovery!
Lesson learnt!! I’m not a cheetah, I’m a middle aged bloke who’s slowly getting very slightly fitter!! No speeding down hills in future!
The rest of the run was ok.....good even.....but I was ready for Jo to tell me I’d finished by the end of it! Those extra 3 mins today felt like 10 but it felt amazing to run for 28 mins!
This was my furthest run yet - and my quickest thanks to channeling the inner cheetah for a whole minute and a half of downhill!
