Sooooo windy (I’m not talking about a personal gastro issue, although that might have helped power me on 😂) the gale was against me the first half of the run and I made the rookie mistake of putting a long sleeve t-shirt on under my running top. Firstly because I thought it looked cold out and secondly the arm band to hold my phone had cut into my skin last week. By about 10mins in I was hot and flustered and couldn’t get my rhythm. For the first time it crossed my mind I mind not get through this run (didn’t help that I’d rushed out the house and forgot to do my dynamic stretches 🤦♀️)
Then Sarah is telling me I’m half way through so I turned round, wind at my back, ‘I can go the distance’ song from the Disney film Hercules comes on through my headphones as if a sign from the running gods (yes I have Disney on my playlist 😂) and I know I’ll finish. I even managed a 60sec sprint at the end.
So maybe wind is my friend after all 😉

I got a bit of a shock this morning when I turned into the wind. I'd added an extra section to my route to account for the extra 3 minutes of week 8. There was only 30 seconds of running into the wind (the rest of the course seems quite sheltered) but it really took me by surprise
Well done for even going out in this weather. I had a similar issue with a phone holder. I've since switched to a bumbag. And no I don't look hip like I'm going to a festival, but it works better for me than the arm strap, plus the added bonus I have somewhere to stash doggie poop bags.
Love this post!..... inspiring!.. just when you thought you couldn't go on ... and then you found the fight from somewhere!..
Well done!
I've had a couple of wardrobe malfunctions lately too!.. i always end up having to multitask and de-robe as I"m running!.. I'm now going to remember ...less is more!
You're doing great!
My W7r1 felt a dream of a run (despite having to de-robe)
My W7r2 was tough - the closest I have come to stopping!
