The wind is my enemy! W4r3

Feeling disheartened!

A few days ago I was dreading w4r2 but seemed to breeze through it and even had enough energy to run faster towards the end.

I left the house today all pumped and full of energy and then it hit me .. the wind!

Into my second run at 3 minutes I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t concentrate and then I got a stitch.. disaster!

I slowed down but had to stop. After a few seconds of pause I continued and managed to finish it. But it was really, really hard.

I never realised how difficult running in the wind (that seems to blow from every direction) is!

Not happy.. I’m very disappointed in myself for stopping.

Yes, but it can be your friend too when it is behind you. Maybe you were running too fast for today’s windy conditions. I ventured out and I was so very very slow today. Don’t be disheartened. Look at what you have achieved so far and give yourself a clap on the back. Happy New Year.

It happens.. wind, rain, hail, all sorts.. you did well.. never, ever feel disappointed with yourself.. you are out there and running :)

I wrote a post ages ago where I said, I never had the wind behind me.. wherever I ran it was always in my face!

If you fancy a giggle.. and have time to waste, you can read it :)

Just tuck this one away, rest up and then head out again, slow and steady... you will be fine:)

Thanks oldfloss ! Great read! It’s asif you were documenting my run 😂

I was considering not running because of the weather but if you did that in england you’d never run !!

Thanks for sharing the post did cheer me up! Nice to know you’re not alone x

Great job you did with all that wind! Like Oldfloss, I think I've never had the wind behind me especially when on a bike or running ;-) You've managed that run, there's nothing to be disappointed about. I found out today that even with nordic walking sticks it was difficult to move forward at times and I think the wind was less strong than on your side of the Channel... So, well done and be confident for your next round W5!! If you can do it in those terrible conditions, you're ready for anything!

You'll be fine! Slow and steady (more or less with the wind) as the mantra goes ;-)

You can always go for a walk if the urge is too great ;-). Rest is important especially after a tough run and you want to be ready for W5. Have a great New Year's eve and a more enjoyable W5R1 next year!
