Long time coming
Well done for getting started. You'll do just fine 🙂
Welcome aboard, you’ll be great, go get it 💪🏻😊
I was just the same but 8 years older than you. Not run since school. Am starting week 6 tomorrow and even these few weeks have made a massive difference to me. Feel fitter, lost 17lb in weight, feel more relaxed and a lot better mentally as well. There is only one winner here and that is you. Just take your time and stick religiously to the program. Good luck 👍😀
Oh and have been advised by my doctor to come off my blood pressure medication as my BP has dropped dramatically since starting exercise....
Welcome!
The biggest challenge is getting started so co gratulations 🥳🏃♀️🏃♂️
Trust in the plan, it really works.
You will be awesome
Welcome. I also had last run at 16 when I arrived here... the first thing I learned was that I wasn’t 16 anymore 🤣. Run one remains the hardest thing I’ve ever done... and while my teenage self would destroy me over 3k, the new me can run at least 18k further!
Have a read of the guide to the plan for lots of tips to make this easier. healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
You can complete the 9 weeks... you can run any distance with some determination and a good plan. Enjoy your journey.
Thanks all feel good today about it hope it helps me sleep too and lose weight. Another first for me too never used social media. I am a dinosaur lol
Yes you most definitely can! I graduated last week... at 52 too 😁 and I couldn’t run even when I was 16 🤪
Just make sure you use the support here to keep your head fixed on your goal and to stick to your schedule... you can do it!
Welcome to the forum and well done getting started.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
Enjoy your journey.
My advice when starting out would be slow and steady, it’s easy to get caught up in the idea that it must be running but slow is fine, good actually. Check out Japanese slow running on you tube. It helped me a lot in the earlier stages. Good luck and welcome 😊👏
