My mojo has been a willing accomplice this week, as opposed to last week when it hid behind the sofa and in the fridge. This week though my mojo has been talking an awful lot of sense, particularly with regard to the weather. I ran on Tuesday morning when the weather was warm but pleasant and I enjoyed my run. Thursday was due to be my next outing but it was already silly degrees by 7am, so my mojo put her foot down and sensibly said, "Just because you can, doesn't mean you should." She was right, and she was right about Friday too.
I aimed to run on Saturday morning, but the road was so slippy due to the rain that for safety's sake I gave it a miss.
Today, with the sunshine back out here in the South Downs but the temperature several degrees down from the highs of earlier in the week, I ran for 30 minutes with the cool breeze refreshingly blowing through the trees. I bumped into a friend walking her two dogs on the common. I haven't seen her since the start of lockdown and it was lovely to see her two dogs bounding towards me, tails wagging but a little confused as to why I was there without my own dog, their playmate. My dog was equally confused when I arrived home smelling of her two furry pals, but with plans in place now to meet up for a socially distanced dog walk now restrictions are easing.
The temperatures are to be much better for running this week. My next run is the one I'm hoping will finally get me to 5k, fingers crossed π€πΌπββοΈπ². I don't think I will have any problem convincing my mojo to get out and running for that one π.
That's good to hear Delly! I think normal service has resumed!! It has been unbearably hot. But today was a good temp. I think I've got my mojo back too. I'm sure you'll crack that 5k you're firing on all cylinders. Enjoy your run and your dog walk. Seems like life getting back to a little normality π
Thank you AllBarron. It was lovely out there this morning - I'm enjoying the fresher air. I'm glad your mojo is behaving too. I'm really looking forward to my next run - it's the 40 minute one, so hoping for that 5k π€πΌπ.
So glad your mo jo is behaving herself now Delly- dot, they can be very awkward at timesπ Sounds like yours is becoming a very sensible running partner.
You meeting your dog walking friend made me laugh I had a similar experience today but my friend looked very confused as I was happily waving at her, she didn't recognise me dressed for running and minus large elderly greyhound π€£
I wonder if your Mojo can have a word with us all and write the motivation posts. She sounds like a sensible girl once she was out from behind the sofa. ππ
Woohoo! MyMojo is feeling very happy, partly because she's getting all excited about looking forward to the next (fingers crossed 5k) run, so she's not going to need much convincing to get herself out there!
My normal is work that hasnβt changed as much as we would have expected it to, apart from even more infection prevention than usual and smelling of dettol and changing our clothes when we arrive oh and we always washed our hands loads
Your mojo and my mojo must have been having words.... back out running this morning after a couple of off days, windy but refreshing, certainly got the air through my lungs. Actually did my first full 5k run non stop, usually I start my gps from the moment I leave the house but today I started it after the warm up walk, first half of the run was definately mind over matter, does anyone else find ths latter half of the run easier? Anyway 41mins 18seconds later i had completed 5kππββοΈπ₯³
Now for a carrot and banana muffinππ§
Well done you, and glad your mojo is keeping you on trackπ
