65, a generous stone overweight, hadn't run for 52 years - no-one is more surprised than me that I've managed it. Huge thanks to everyone who posts their advice and encouragement here, I would have given up weeks ago without this forum.

Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 9 and graduating from C25K 🎓 🏃🏾 👍

To get your graduation badge and the word GRADUATE 🎓 🏃🏾 next to your username leave a message on the June graduate post in the pinned posts on the right side of the healthunlocked C25K home page and tell the administrators that you have ran W9R3 of C25K and graduated. 😊 🏃🏾 🎓 .

Thank you. I really didn't think I'd make it this far - and I'm pleased that I don't bother any more about what people will think when they see me running, which was the thing that stopped me from trying for years. In fact, it was the biggest stumbling block for me - stupid of me to be so vain!

Not vain at all -

Have u read my post about nails and lashes?! 🤣 now that’s vanity haha! To be fair it was just fun but I know what you mean... I have a beetroot coloured face when running!... I have noticed tho that the only ones who make me uncomfortable are those that wear all the running gear ... but who aren’t running .. it’s their loss

You’ve done fab! 👏👏👏👏 enjoy the celebration 🥂🍾

Most of all I used the dread the groups of teenage kids in the park, I thought they would think it was hilarious to see an oldie like me doggedly puffing past - but I've found they're nearly always nice, it was my prejudice, not theirs, that was wrong.

Thank you - one of the unlooked-for benefits of having to work from home since lock-down is that I've had a bit more time. I hope I don't give up the (slow) running when I have to go back to commuting.

I know what you mean, had it not been for furlough I’m not sure how I’d have coped 😊

Thank you. The phoenix is a great image to have as part of your name. A symbol of new beginnings.

Definitely a new me, never thought I’d ever get up at 5:15 and be out running 5k at 6am, but I am and I’m loving it. A Phoenix rises from the ashes, this one rose from the couch 🏃‍♂️🛋

Thank you. I have to say I'm more pleased than I expected to be - but then I didn't expect to get this far anyway! It's only because of the support here that I managed it.

I haven't even thought about consolidation!! I won't think about that for a couple of days but I'm excited - and astonished! - that I'm even contemplating consoliation runs. Who would have guessed it when I started - certainly not me!
