New to the forum. Hi Mum if you’re reading this. Just attempted Week 2 run 1 feeling cocky after doing my first week through the heatwave. Feel a bit bleurgh. Had to go down to walk twice and didn’t have this problem in my first week. This will get easier won’t it?? 💚🏃🏻♀️

Welcome to the forums and great job getting started.
Running will get easier, but this plan will remain challenging as the runs increase. Have a read of the guide to the plan, which covers pacing and a whole heap of other stuff to make this easier. healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
Stick with it. The heat does make exercise more of a struggle (unless it’s swimming). Just remember, like anything else in life, some days are harder than others. 😁👍
Well done you're doing great. I can't offer the hope that it gets easier as I don't feel it does. You get better at it, you run further, faster but it's never easy as you always want more. What happens is you learn to deal with it. I still could quite easily stop after the first 10 minutes but somehow once I'm passed that I get a rhythm and I run more freely. Have faith in the program, take encouragement from the people on the forum. They're a wealth of experience and encouragement. Take it easy, you've got this👍🏃🏃
Good for you managing to run in the heat - it just saps the energy! Keep at it. Apart from the heat, you might think about pace. Almost everybody starts this programme way too fast - I know I certainly did and was about to keel over by week 3. And then somebody suggested I slow right down and check out Japanese slow jogging. What a revelation. Take a look. Good luck and keep on!! youtu.be/9L2b2khySLE
Hi Hannah! I don’t know that it gets easier but you will get more used to doing it. It’s very hot at the moment and therefore hugely important to stay well hydrated all the time, not just on the days you run. That might be why you feel rough. And don’t go too fast. And make sure you take your rest days! Any runs you don’t complete aren’t fails - they’re just practice runs; you re-do them next time out and find you can do them after all! Most important, don’t forget to post here and let us know how you get on!
Yes after time your body will acclimatise to what you are doing to it. It’ll take a few weeks but as long as you look after yourself you will start to notice the changes.
