No bikes were involved in my run today I promise π€£
So following my fall on Wednesday Iβve had to have a couple of rest days rather than the usual one and I was very nervous about going out today as my leg is all scabby, my hip bruised and my shoulder aches....
However! I went out, started slow but managed to beat all my PR for 400m, 1 km, 1mile, 2mile and my furthest run!
I did go to a different park and ran on paths rather than trails as I didnβt want to put my poor battered body under any further stress than needed and it was much less hilly....
Roll on Monday for week 8 run 3!

Thank you.... Yeah I didnβt attempt to increase my pace but my husband did come with me in case I needed rescuing and I think he made me pick up my pace a little, he is a super runner π€£. The flatter terrain and paths also made it a little easier.
I ran a lot on grass, when I first ran on tarmac it was certainly easier... I ran to a pace back then so maybe Iβd have been able to go quicker, but I enjoyed the easy π€£. Now I run to either HR or perceived effort, so it would be interesting to try a trail to tarmac run and see my stats. You have me thinking of new running adventures now... thanks!
Some of my best 5k times have been set on my long runs, in fact my 5k PB was on a 10.25 mile run, Iβd set off at a low effort to get to the target distance, the run was smooth and the PB came. Itβs really strange, but I think that the less adjustments to effort I have to make, the less thinking I have to do, the quicker the average mile becomes.
I got knocked flying while trying to avoid a couple of dogs off the lead in the park Wednesday... my poor bruised and battered leg coped ok today though thankfully!
