W4R3 done and proud.

I have started C25K purely to lose weight and gain some sort of fitness. Never thought I would get this far. What helps is that I bring my soon to be 8 year old with me, I keep going because I want to show him that hard work pays off. Anyway - I am soon to start week 5 I try to leave 2 days recovery between each run as my excess weight and previous problems have meant my knees get very sore. I am eating healthier, cut out most snacks, drinking more water but have only lost 1.5kg. At over 92kg I'm worried that my weight is going to stop me (though I am determined to keep going).

Firstly well done on starting and also on encouraging your son. Just take it slowly and listen to your body. If necessary take an extra days rest between. The weight loss doesn’t really start until you are running regular longer runs ( took me about 18 months before it started to move).

Have you seen the YouTube video on Japanese slow Running? Maybe that will help with impact and save your poor knees?

Good luck with the rest of your runs and pop back any time for advice and support

Go you !! 👍😁🏃‍♀️🏃🏼

Can you run on grass? I find that easier on the knees.

I found I was in more pain running on grass, due to uneven surface. The sore knee just means I rest a bit longer and give a little bit more time to recover between the runs. Thank you for the reply.
