Ayup you lot. So I didn’t relish going out at all. But I knew it starts with a walk, and once I’m out there, I’ll be fine. The third jogg, ( not runs yet. Still pacing myself to make sure it’s doable ) so the third one was hard. However, the ones following, were again a breeze. In fact I noticed that on the last one, my stride was significantly lengthened and therefore my pace also. So looking forward to Wed’. Although still with a tiny bit of trepidation. I feel so good right now. I hope this helps someone. I’m 67yrs old.

Keep going!...it does get a grip of you!.. It's funny how we all have some reticence ...but once we are out.. and switch the app on and are doing our warm up stretches and walk... it's amazing how much we can achieve.....I' sure writing our experiences on here will be helping people too... I look forward to more posts from you and seeing your progress - I read someone talking about barriers to running and someone replied..'The hardest barrier is the front door'.... that really made me giggle.. :-)

I am at exactly the same stage - did W2R1 this morning. I agree - the third one was the hardest - I wonder why? It's a good feeling!

Wow! A sole mate lol. I did find my new running shoes made a difference. I found some Asics reduced from £139 to £69. Couldn’t resist em’. So I don’t know if you think the same as me? I can see that I’ll complete the course. I’m certainly determined. So glad this program exists.

I am determined too, but I didn't decide that until I finished week 1 as I was scared I would have to give up! I am a whole year younger than you - so no excuse to be any less determined. We WILL finish the course, and then keep running!

So much of this journey is a mental battle to prise us out of old, not so great habits and into better, healthier ones.

At 67 you're a lot younger than many of our members who have shown just what is really possible, and at any time of life! 👍🏻😁

The trepidation is normal, just keep batting it aside and you'll get through this, learning so much along the way!

Totally agree thanks. Actually, I was originally inspired by a 76yr old who ran the London Marathon never having run before. Apart from the time he trained for the Marathon. I just didn’t do anything until now. Except tackle my diet. Currently down from 17.5 st to 12.5st. The running is to enhance.

That's a great result, much easier to get up hills without extra weight! 💪🏻👍🏻😁

Fantastic achievement! .... well done ... you should feel proud. It’s one thing starting the program, but to keep going is another.

I always feel nervous of any new week under the program but have had a great sense of achievement when I finish the 1st run with its new goals and running distances ... sort of plateau at the 2nd but feel so good after finishing a week.

So stick at it ... you’ve got this far ... you can go the course ... so well done ! 🏃🏻‍♂️👏👍

Nice one fredinbrum 👍 sounds like you’ve got the running bug 🏃‍♂️ we all feel a bit of trepidation before a run, I know I do but I’m fine once I’m out there.
