Done! Not the best final run but I am done!

Truly amazed at what my body has achieved in the past few weeks, going from someone who despised running and would end up wheezing after 3 minutes of straight running, to running under-35 minute 5Ks.

Love this programme. Thanks for all the support! Looking forward to receiving my graduate badge and continuing the run journey! X

Aww thats amazing!..what a fab post!.. really uplifting and I'm so chuffed for you!.... Can't wait to get where you are!.... Must be an awesome feeling to see that come up on your phone once completed!..... You are officially a runner!.... Go and treat yourself to something ice.... maybe tie it in with your running journey and buy something running related.... No wait!.... scrap that!... get a bottle of bubbles to celebrate!... My friend and I are doing this remotely together and we have agreed a bottle of fizz to celebrate the end of the programme!... Well done!.....

Thank you so much! Such a kind message. It really is! You’re so close, don’t give up! I’m happy to provide any encouragement along the way. So good to have a friend doing it as well. Definitely helps so much. A friend of mine inspired me to start it with her too. Definitely enjoyed a bit too much wine last night! Feeling it today haha. X

Sorry - meant to ask - what is that on the right of your photo?..tells you laps etc etc..... Is it a fit bit?.. I don't have one of those.... yet :-( but i would love to see this for my own running

Thanks x

Yes, I recognise that as one of the Fitbit screens, really useful to track your runs for key stats.

Thanks - i need to get one!... I'm getting right into this running! Who would have thought! :-)

You would be better (and cheaper) to download the nike run app. I have a fitbit but heard on here that they are not accurate. Tested this out and they are not so now using the nike run app 🏃‍♀️😊

It gets to us all eventually! If you go to Fitbit.com there is a link for “App Tour” so you can see what it records etc. I wear mine all the time as also good for daily step count, resting heart rate etc. App is good, but you can’t easily compare one run to another. When I run I also use Jabra sport earbuds which also track heart rate, distance, pace etc. The Jabra app is very similar to fit bit, the only extra bit I like is it automatically tracks PB’s which is good. Lots of other options out there like Garmin watches and strava etc. Latest garmin and Fitbit watches also now come with inbuilt gps and music stores, so no need to even take a phone with you on a run (my old Fitbit uses the phone gps for tracking). Maybe worth asking on here what people would recommend as lots of options at lots of different price points. Wait until you start tracking stats then you really will be sucked in ! Enjoy

Thanks- I've found Strava.... will give that a go..... see how i get on with that

I'm loving this whole running thing bit I' gonna be skint if i don't curb my enthusiasm.... ha!.... new shoes (so worth it!), new windbreaker after my soaking the other day, new sports socks, etc etc.. the list goes on...

BUT

I'm loving the idea of everything in one place so no need to even take phone.... will do some research ...thanks for the response! Food for thought

:-)

Tell me about it, I have spent more money on running gear in the last six months than anything else !! At least there is no gym membership fee with running !

It’s the Fitbit app yes! I’ve had a Charge 3 watch for a while now. I’d honestly recommend a garmin watch for running, but when you get more seriously into it/if you plan to keep doing it more seriously. A more affordable GPS and fitness tracker is the Fitbit charge 4, which has a built-in GPS. I think for now though, you could just use the Strava app for free and record through that. You will need an arm band/running belt to have your phone on your person while you run though! :) It is good to have an idea of your pace and improvement, so I get you

Sounds fab! Technology is fab these days isnt it... I will run with the Strava app for the moment and see how i get on.... Thanks for sharing your knowledge tho...at least i know my stuff too

Thank you! I think although this was a harder run than my last, that’s about when it sunk in that I completed the programme! Onwards and upwards. I will do that, thanks for signposting! X
