Week 7 completed today and I realised this weekend I have become a running bore - giving friends and family blow by blow accounts of my progress while their eyes glaze over. Part of it genuinely is that I want others to have a go and experience the fab programme and all the benefits it’s brought me. The other bit is that I have little else to talk about during lockdown! I have also become a massive fan of drinking water and always have a glass by my side now, something I have struggled with before for some reason. My skin is certainly much improved and thanking me for it. Week 8 I’m coming for you.
Running bore: Week 7 completed today and I... - Couch to 5K
Running bore
I can only speak for myself, but I tell my kids because I want them to think I can do something decent even at my age. I’m not washed up!
Good for you, well done,
I think the realisation of what your body can do if you are determined and persistent, and completing the runs themselves gives you such a high that you want to tell everyone and before you know it.......you’re a running bore...I imagine the majority of people on here would agree with that 😂 it is great though isn’t it 😜
This made me smile as I think this is now me too. Part of this is the fascination of hearing myself say "I'm going for a run". I always saw this as something "other" people said, and not fat, little old me!! I love it so much, I have shocked myself how much I am enjoying it. Well done on all you have achieved and good luck with week 8.
Nothing wrong with sharing your achievements with anyone. Like you said, it's a feel-good that you would love other people to experience! Keep going..
Besides....if vegans use every chance to say their vegan...runners can do the same.
I talk about the calorie counting and Couch 25k all the tine aswell 😄 keeps me motivated and focused x
Well done you
I'm the exact same hahaha! You won't see me without a glass or bottle of water at my side now and my skin has never looked so nice - someone at my work has started C25K and they are on their first week and I get so excited but she seems like she's struggling which I was as well so I've tried to give her as much advice from the forum as I can! It's just so exciting to tell people that you are going for a run and the fact that you can DO the run is even better!
Good luck for Week 8, you are going to SMASH it!
The running bore comment made me laugh ...... because I think I may have turned into one too! 😩
This made me smile, I have to rein myself in when I get home from a run as my other half hates exercise, won't even go for a short walk. But once I had done my first 20 minute non-stop run, I just had to start crowing about it!
Welcome to the dark side! 👍🏻🤣😁 At least you know you can always come here to chat about your running issues without being thought of as a bore! We love it all! 💖🤗
Haha me too, my partner's eyes glaze over when I start going into details and my children are looking at me like they think I'm on another planet! But it is great and it's something that's all for you!
Ha ha, this is me too, but I can't help myself - I want to share the joy that this programme brings! However, not only do I bore non-runners, I pester any runners I know too, asking them all sorts!
feel free to bore us all day long!.... I'm the same... a blow by blow account!
My girls encourage me to get fitter but now i see them making their excuses to leave my company!... haha! they know I"m going to go into ...'So my run today...guess what happened...'
ah sorry mum I'm a bit busy at the moment! hahaha!
I end up talking to the dog!
I'm torn between wanting the whole population including everyone i come into contact with...to try it and the opposite.. of keeping the secret of this brilliant programme to myself....
I’m in your club too boring all the family & friends but we’ve done good we need a pat on the back Keep Running 🏃♀️
