Please forgive a park run bore

Sorry all but it is a novelty for me at the moment.

Just a couple of comments on this week.

In my desperate attempt improve my time I have convinced myself that.... if I am at the back of 250 runners it takes me a couple of minutes to pass the start sign after the whistle so that must mean I can knock two mins off my finish time right? Just joking really, I’m pleased to just be there

Two thank yous today too

1 to the lady behind me at the car park machine who discreetly informed me that my leggings were inside out and that the label was cheekily waving between my buttocks! (Early start no cup of tea to wake me up)

2 to the other 67 year old woman who didn’t turn up and therefore enabling me to come first in my age group.

Thanks, it’s my Saturday morning secret vice. Just getting out there is my only goal at the moment. Have you done many?

Number 6 today. Love it and always run my own run 🏃‍♀️even though there were 495 runners 😉

Wow that’s a big number is that Norwich? I run Blickling

Eaton Park, Norwich but I have tried Blickling which is a much more picturesque route just a little further drive 👍

Lucky to have so many round here. I thought I might like to do some spring ones further afield although the thought of sheringham fills me with dreading that hilly route though

Hills! I don't do hills 😂

Hey - that doesn’t sound like the lady who, last week, was beating herself up for being slow! 🤗. I did PR No 4 today, and achieved what I set out to do - ie run (shuffle) the whole way. At last I got a glimpse of that feeling of achievment! All things are relative, and I know the only way I was able to do it was by going even more slowly than I ever thought possible, but yes - I said we’d nail it, and it sounds as if we are both a tad closer to doing that. 👍

I’ve just read some of your posts, congratulations on your 10K . At the moment I’m trying to consolidate 5k without injury, but you’ve inspired me to consider the 5k to 10K programme.

I’m impressed with your speed too, I have doubts about increasing mine but then again in September I didn’t even think I could run .

Thank you, not quite sure what's happened to me have never done anything like this before but I just love it 😁I'm not really concerned about how fast (or slow) run just enjoying the journey.

Perhaps we'll meet up at Blickling one day.👍

My first Park Run today! Not sure when I’ll get to do another but it was fun! I was 5 th in my age category but beginning to think there might have only been 5 of us!! 😂

If you really are desperate to get your time down then the further forward you start the better, obviously.

Keep enjoying it.

I would love to be a park run bore but no parks here, so Im delighted to enjoy them vicariously through you!

Well done Laurel! No bore at all! I had nearly 700 runners in front of me this morning at PR, so could probably knock off a few more minutes then.😁

And I thought my time would be worse than it was as felt so sluggish, but I was suprised with a reasonable time, funny how that happens sometimes.😁

700! Can’t imagine that. Yes timing seems rather random to me too. Wind and cold are my worst enemies

Well done! Fun read. I was the tail walker/runner with 11 others at Parkrun in snowy, icy Montreal. I volunteer for this position in the winter because I'm one of the slowest runners showing up. I guess the cold weather scares away the casual runners and the walkers. It's being there that counts.
