There are certainly ups and downs!

Today was the first down day in a long while. I found the third 25 minute run of week 7 tricky. I had decided on Sarah’s advice to vary my route so ended up in the local playing field where there is a glass fronted pavilion. Each time I ran past the pavilion I could see myself. My conclusion is that I thought I was jogging. What I saw today was slower than my 80 year old mother pushing her trolley! I found the monotony of going round a field didn’t lift me to my usual high so next week I will go back to the woods!

Onwards and possibly upwards!

I know they say vary but better the devil you know! I run much better sticking to the same route, not only that, I get to a certain place and know I’m on my way home! 😂

My normal route has more variety of scenery but I do find the tracks in the woods a bit lethal with potholes catching me out! How far do you run? I’ve seen posts where folks are nearly doing 4 or 5K in the time. I’m nowhere near that!

I find the woods really tough on my ankles, I run about 1K round a football field as part of my run just to mix it up, but it’s hard. Much prefer road running. I’m on W8 R1 and with the 5 mins walk either side and 28 min runs I’m doing almost 5K. Don’t feel bad about what you are or aren’t doing, it’s about completing the programme and building on it. Fitter, younger people may reach 5K in 30 mins but if I can just run for 30 mins I’ll be happy! Well done so far and keep going! 💪🏼

I tried a varied route a few weeks back too and had the same result, didn’t like it either. Still we don’t know till we try I suppose. Glad you it didn’t put you off and you still completed though 😊. Better runs next week 😊

Made me giggle...it's like the thought of working out in a mirrored gym. No thank you. Who is the short tubby beetroot at the back? Oh whoops that's me. In my head I can run...especially down hills...I don't want to destroy the dream. 👣🤣
