so as i told you ive been running on treadmill , but have been away this week so decided to run outdoors but to repeat week 4 again , this however did not go to plan !!

podcast troubles meant i had week 5 run 1 lined up which i was dreading but managed to complete , the road i was running on was a single track country lane with quite a steep gradient ( to me !! ) so sunday i did this run and manged to do it ran o a beautiful church and turned and came back as there was no circular route , was tired and very out of puff on the last 5 min section but in the distance i saw another runner coming towards me so i straightened up and plodded on , and manged to gasp a hello i dont know who the lady was but she was my angel as i was really struggling and almost giving up but i would have hated to stop partway so she was my focus ( if you were the lady running in gt dunham up the hill wearing a green macmillan t shirt i owe you my run ending :) ) ! anyway that was sunday , out of puff but done ,

next run day was tuesday again on same road however it was about 8 o clock and the road was surprisingly busy after a 5 minute warm up walk which i had to jump onto the verge about 7 times i only managed to run for 2 minutes , i was scared of being run over and my mind wasnt in it so i turned round and went back to our holiday home , i was so disappointed , i had heavy legs no energy ... been walking for miles every day with the dogs , gremlins by the dozen and as mentioned car issues , i cried because i was disappointed in myself i thought i was never going to be a runner , i was too fat etc to complete the program and what was the point ,

wednesday evening i told my hubby i was going to try again , i woke and went out at around 5 am thursday morning , to make sure there was no traffic , i re ran w5 r1 again ... WITH DEERS ! , as i was plodding along a beautiful deer shot out of a field level with me , looked at me and started to run just in front of me , it was magical , you may now call me by my new name running with deer lol , anyway i managed the run this time with a bit of breath in my lungs , moral of story , dont give up , you can do it , i was so close to stopping but my bloody mindedness told me to pull up my ( very ) big girl pants and go run

i am going to redo week 5 on my normal run days mon , wed , and friday , and whilst in pounding away on my treadmill i will think of the deer and maybe start looking into running out round my local area , even though its not lovely country lanes etc its just an estate which isnt as stimulating !!

That Deer was your omen... :) What a wonderful inspiring and honest post... I loved it, except, where you were upset!

You were so determined and with your positive attitude you are going to cruise wonderfully towards the Graduation podium, slowly and steadily, with your Deer shadowing you :)

Early morning running is great...it sets you up for the day... and if there are no fields or tracks, then the estate can be just as stimulating.. You, out there, early, the world is sleeping and just beginning to stir, so much to see and hear... Buildings, gardens, colours, scents and sounds... I love my fields but, I have got so much pleasure from runs where I have had to be amongst the houses and streets :)

Please... keep posting and be so proud of yourself...:)

Huge well done - particularly as this is your first runs outside. I would have absolutely loved that deer running with me - it must have been fabulous. If you want to get off the estate take yourself up on the old railway track that runs from Braintree station - it's much nicer and a bit more rural. Be very proud of yourself this week, it would have been really easy to declare yourself on holiday! 😄

Run with the deer. I may just rename myself Runlikeadeer. I like it :)

I could really feel your disappointment. You did so well to get out there and that's what counts!

You did so, so well! Running outside is a little harder than a treadmill. Running in a strange place outside can be a little daunting. But you did it.

Keep going runner, nearly there now 👍🏼😀
