I’m on W9R2 (although yesterday I was in the zone and run my first 5K)
Life after Laura ?
I will continue to stretch before and after and I attend a runnings Pilates class too but I’m guessing it’s still good practise to still do the 5 minutes warm up cools down walk ? Before and after each run ?
It’s just I have seen people on my estate that’s literally just start running the minute they walk out their door.
Thank you

Warming up is crucial, especially in cooler weather or when you have just got out of bed, as muscles need to be warmed up to minimise injury risk, whether you are an amateur or elite athlete.
Cooling down is a bit more contentious as it used to be considered important to clear lactic acid............that is now considered debatable, but it does help bring heart rate down gradually.
Seven years after C25k I still stretch immediately after every run and swear by it, especially after a hard run.
You too could start running from your doorstep and court increased injury risk or you can warm up before leaving home.
I have to say I’ve been thinking about this too (having only graduated yesterday) and I’m thinking that I will still do a warm up/down walk but possibly cut it down a bit and see how that goes! Good luck!
