Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
Weak core is often the cause but perhaps you have another issue which is being highlighted by the impact of running. If it persists then best get checked out by a physio.
Are you wearing good running shoes suitable for your gait?
Enjoy your journey.
Hi thanks for your reply, I have good running shoes but haven't had my gait checked I follow the NHS Stretch after running after each run
I'll have to wait for the pain to ease before continuing I think but I don't know what else to do to prevent it, thanks again
The guide has advice on dealing with injury.
Thank you for your advice, the problem turned out to be an inflamed sacroiliac joint which got better with ice and stretches, I only missed 2 runs....
