Beetroot face, just checking in ๐Ÿ˜‚

โ€ข28 Replies

When I returned from my 30 minute run this morning I certainly looked like l was giving a beetroot a good run for its money! Phew ๐Ÿ˜… it was warm early today ๐Ÿฅต. Not attractive, not fast, but another run done and enjoyed ๐Ÿ˜Š. I shall be heading out even earlier next time though!

I waited for the rain today before I went out.... I hate the heat thankfully Iโ€™m in the U.K. so we have limited warm weather.

in reply to BowlingT

Iโ€™m in the UK too but got caught out this morning by it being much warmer than I expected in my lovely South Downs and leaving a little later than usual ๐Ÿ™„.

Running in the rain is so refreshing, I love it.

Happy running ๐Ÿ˜Š

I hear you. I'm in Spain and did my week 7 R.3 this morning in 22 degrees ... up and out at 7 am for week 8

in reply to Imeldab

Wow! 22 degrees! I take my hat off to you! I can run in hotter weather once I have acclimatised to it, but the temperatures here are yo-yoing at the moment and my internal thermostat doesnโ€™t know where itโ€™s at!

Good luck for your final weeks ๐Ÿ˜Š.

Itโ€™s soooo hot for running. Iโ€™m right there with you beetroot red, only Iโ€™m dripping too. I left the house at 7am and it was my hottest run yet.

in reply to HappyNoodle

Oh Iโ€™m dripping too, itโ€™s not pretty! Early bird for the next run, I think ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜Š!

The problem with running in this weather is that you certainly can avoid the heat of later in the day by running in the morning around 7 o'clock but at that time the humidity is higher, so it's a case of running at 7am in high humidity but lower temperatures or running in lower humidity in the afternoon but in higher temperature, I prefer the lower temperature and just put up with the higher humidity.

in reply to AlMorr

Hi Al. Yes, I agree and was really humid this morning. Iโ€™m usually out by 7am but pressed the fatal snooze button this morning....... ๐Ÿ™„

I didnโ€™t know that Iโ€™m obviously meteorologically (if thatโ€™s even a word) ignorant ๐Ÿ˜Š. I was wondering about later in the evening what are your thoughts on that?

Late evening around 30 minutes before sunset is also a good time for a run, the temperature is falling but humidity is beginning to rise, there is always a risk of a thunderstorm in high humidity type weather as is now, I notice from the weather ๐ŸŒฉ lightning radar chart that there are a lot of thunderstorms now in many parts of England and a few in the Highlands of Scotland.

Thank you thatโ€™s not too late to go out either. I might try it tomorrow only a 20% chance of rain โ˜”๏ธ anyway I quite like the rain as long as itโ€™s warm.

Thank you for that explanation, I didnโ€™t realise the humidity was higher in the morning - explains my beetroot face after my morning run yesterday! ๐Ÿฅต

Glad you are having fun. Take care ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

in reply to Nilsam

I am having fun! I donโ€™t seem to be achieving much beyond running my run, but Iโ€™m good ๐Ÿ˜Š. How are you and your poorly arm doing?

Thank you for asking, we are good. Just out of plaster and in a splint. Thought I could get out there but waving it about doesn't work yet. Aiming for July 1st for maybe week 0. But we are fine. Plenty of lower body exercise and one handed stretches. ๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿค—

in reply to Nilsam

That sounds like good progress ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ˜ƒ.

Fab!! All adds up! Hope your back improving Delly-dot ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

in reply to Allbarron

Oh my back is great, thank goodness. Gave myself a firm talking to for putting my running in jeopardy like that! Honestly, I canโ€™t believe I wrote that last sentence.... ๐Ÿ˜ƒ ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

I feel for you, I can't do heat either. No chance of that in Yorkshire this morning we had a thick chilly mist. Annoyingly I couldn't take advantage of it today, so fingers crossed for a misty morning tomorrow ๐Ÿ˜Š

in reply to dijep

I love misty murky Yorkshire mornings!! Havenโ€™t experienced them for a while.....

Enjoy your next run ๐Ÿ˜Š

Well done you! It was supposed to rain all day and it was lovely but very muggy!

Cannot manage 5k in 30 mins, But strangely can manage 8k but takes ages.

Aim for peach next time!

in reply to Timotea

Peach sounds good ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ˜Š. Iโ€™m still working on that 5k!

Humidity seems to be the problem where I am in Scotland Delly-dot. Just like you I have the redest face imaginable and dripping in sweat. It's a good look ( its a good look) well I tell myself that anyway ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

in reply to Buddy34

๐Ÿ˜‚ I tell myself that at least it looks like Iโ€™ve been working hard! ๐Ÿ˜Š

The humidity is utter pants I was late going out yesterday so not out until 6.30 am. I am a huge fan of beetroot ( especially in a choc cake) I applaud your tribute.

in reply to CaptFrey

I like beetroot too, but yet to try it in chocolate cake.... ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜Š

I went for exactly the same look yesterday after setting off for a run about 7.15am - beetroot and sweaty ๐Ÿฅต!! But at least we still got out and then you have that lovely feeling for the rest of the day knowing youโ€™ve done it!! ๐Ÿ˜Š
