Hopefully everyone is managing to get out there. I only did one run last week found it to be too hot to even consider going out and running. I wasn’t sure I could do my self justice. So I did one run then half of my mind kicked myself that I should of got out and run whilst the other half said no it’s too hot. Well weather cooled this week so went for a run and my goodness the gremlins were out along with the bloody wind. Usually when I come up against strong winds like that I don’t run that way again, but now that I like my park route I carried on only to find 2/3 of my run was in to the wind. This made it extremely hard however I continued and managed to complete a 5k maintenance run. It might be the only one this week. It was a little slower than previous runs but I still managed in 27.39mins so pretty pleased with that. Happy running all stick at it.

Wow , great time 27 mins for 5K . Congratulations. Yep the wind has been a challenge - resistance training for sure !

I went out last Tuesday , only managed 3K , then on Saturday and in the wind , I personally took it slowly determined to run 5K and ended up at 7K !

The extra days rest and cooler weather with rain certainly helped me out .

I’m W10 after grad. I no longer look for roosters , I just want to manage my life in a happy safe.

Congratulations on graduating. I graduated in March 19 and still going, recent times have seen a good improvement. Currently run once or twice a week only run if I feel I need to and if I feel I can put the effort in. I am a cooler person although I did manage some runs in the heat I was happier to go when temperatures dropped and I am not an early riser runner.

I like that term you used. "a 5K maintenance run" many runners run that on a Saturday morning around 9/9.30 including myself.

That is a very good time for you considering your 'maintenance run' was ran against a wind., well done.

Thanks AlMorr I don’t like the thought of losing any stamina and success I have achieved so like to get out and keep the body ticking over. Currently achieving this once or twice a week and that keeps me going.

Yep only did one 20 min run last week since it was super hot and the pollen count a bit ridiculous! I thought the break and to start up yoga would do me some good, since things have not been easy recently at work. I did struggle yesterday with a run since I had a stress headache (from work, again!) But felt good to have finished. Hoping to pick back up with 3x weekly. Well done on your 5k ✅

Well done for getting out there 20 mins is better than none, I try and run for 5k whatever the time. I have only run the 3 times a week whilst doing the C25K app other wise only once or twice a week to maintain fitness. Good luck with your next run.
