Very humid tonight, and this along side a concoction of other things has led for me to run my slowest run of week 8 which is a little disappointing. Although from the get go I knew it was going to be a challenging run.
I’m almost tempted to try and find a flatter and longer run, something which doesn’t involve me going up and down the same track three times in order to get the distance. But I’m not sure if changing it up a week or so before graduation is a good idea? What’s your guys thoughts?

I had a terrible wk8 r3 run but did a much easier run for wk9 r1 this morning, I think it’s just one of those things. I alter my route a bit otherwise I start to count down time left by where I am which then affects the mental battle. Keep chugging on and do what feels right for you on the day.
Ah that’s good to know, at least it wasn’t just me that found this run tricky.
I don’t know the area I’m running very well so I’ve struggled to vary my routes, I just stuck to the first thing that worked. Maybe I should try and be more brave for my next run and try something new
Good question... changing from hilly to flat works the muscles a little differently, so you may get a few aches that you’ve either not had or started to get over already coming.
I’m wouldn’t be even in the slightest worried about this being your slowest run of the week though... I’d be pretty happy that I’d managed the pace, maybe even found a new lower gear to run in... if you intend to go to longer distances in the future, a really easy pace is great for your long run... obviously it was done out of necessity today, but that pace in better conditions would feel easier.
I avoided hills on the plan (all my running in my youth had been in tracks) so had the opposite issue of learning how to take on hills... so may not be the best person to give a definitive answer, but personally I’d go give the other run a go... there’s nothing lost if it’s not a great run.
