Can I alternate non-run days with 7 minutes workout app?

Hi all,

I'm starting week 8 and I am itching to run every day, but after reading this forum it seems it's not advisable.

I am now wondering if I can alternate non-run days with this app here:

play.google.com/store/apps/...

What do you think ?

Thanks

The first rule of C25K is not to run on consecutive days but you can do other excersises, cross training so that app you have directed us to would be great.

Ok, many thanks!

I was wondering if the leg exercises (such as squats, etc) would also be safe to do, seeing you're putting those muscles to (quite heavy) use ...

Don't over do it regarding squats, they are good for running, but don't do too many.

Yes, in fact if you’re not doing other cross training already, 7 minute workout would be a pretty sensible place to start... as with the running we need to start small and build from there. We also have the NHS strength and flex programme.

Yup.

On the nhs site they suggest alternating workouts and give you a 30 minute strength building or something programme (that I'm not doing so can't recall exactly).
