Week 7..

Week 7 has been and gone and it's felt like a rather a mixed bag. Run 2 was a real slog - definitely went out the box too quickly. My running partner said I was tracking 30 seconds quicker per km in comparison to my normal pace. No idea why I thought this was acceptable, just fell into this ridiculous speed and then struggled from about 10 minutes in! Plus my playlist was massively off - as much as I love Massive Attack, it wasn't the pumping energy I needed to get me through.

Did run 3 yesterday and made sure I was tracking my normal 7 minute p/km pace and I had a genuinely lovely time. Pushed through a little longer than the 25 minutes because I still felt strong. What a result!

Can't believe I'm into my second to last week of this programme. Anyone hitting the wall, keep pushing. I know we all say it but if I can get to this point, anyone can. Had a few mind over matter moments recently but yesterdays "fun" run was the reward for the earlier struggles.

Stay safe C25K gang, you've got this

.x.

Great job on that week. 30 seconds per km is a sizeable difference in pace, especially early on your journey. Hat’s off to you for getting run 2 finished... tough run, tougher runner. Good to read that you dropped the pace back down to comfortable... sensible and better for your development. Be careful over running the plan, too much too soon injuries pay for physios exotic holidays, and this year that will just depress them as they’re unlikely to be going! You’ll be going on to incredible things in good time!

Have a wonderful week 8.
