Virtual Gait Analysis Results!

I’ve now had my virtual Gait Analysis consultation with RunnersNeed and it was really informative! I found out that they’re currently in the trial phase so this might be why it’s not advertised on their website.

The man I spoke to walked through his suggestions over the phone (which also included a bit on running technique which I thought was interesting) and this was inline with the pdf I was sent which also contained the info. At the end he recommended two shoes (and which size to get) but as I said previously, there was no pressure to buy from them - although I think it’s likely that I will!

Very excited to order a pair of new trainers later on!

That sounds interesting. I guess they'll only recommend brands they sell?

I don't know if they're one of your recommendations, but bought my Ons at Runnersneed. I love them although they do seem to be a bit of a marmite brand.

It seems a bit unfair, but the sale section of sportsshoes.com have some bargains if you know what you're after.

Yeah that would definitely be the downside to it, although they were able to give me a good idea of the type of shoe I would be after and I was able to use this info to have a look around! :)

Thanks for posting this. I was planning on gait analysis and buying decent trainers on my wk5 which almost coincided exactly with lock down. Since then I've been thinking about what I'd do if my cheap pair fell apart. So at least people are thinking of ways round the current problems.

I was thinking about having a gait analysis done after lockdown. Interesting 🤔

My trainers that I bought online once I saw lockdown coming have served me well throughout C25K and I’ve had no particular aches or niggles. Is this just luck or an indicator that my current trainers are ok? I had zero knowledge of running shoes before and not much more now. Do I need to get this done or should I just carry on ? I really hate shopping for any kind of footwear as I have such little feet ( size 2 1/2) and it’s always a nightmare 😱

I’d say if your shoes aren’t causing pain at the moment, they’re probably okay to stick with! That was what I got told by someone else in the forum but because my current trainers are so old, they started giving me blisters so buying a new pair became a necessity - I think if they had been fine, I would have probably waited if that helps. ☺️

Thanks yes that’s very helpful- I’ll put it off as long as possible. More by luck than judgement that current ones are ok! 😜
