Can anyone recommend anywhere in Cardiff? I did look at Run and Become but I think they have you running outside and analyse ‘by eye’, a method which has been criticised on this forum.
Any thoughts on this ?

Not sure I’m the most qualified to answer, as I only graduated in October last year. However, I have several friends (and husband) who have been running for years and really like Run and Become in Cardiff and they really rate the gait analysis and shoes they’ve purchased there. I haven’t been myself though!
If you don’t mind driving a couple of junctions down the motorway you could try McArthur Glen Retail outlet at Sarn, Bridgend. They have several running shops under one roof - I purchased my shoes from the New Balance outlet there on the recommendation of a marathon running friend. The staff were very helpful and unhurried and spent quite a lot of time with me (was a quiet midweek morning). They use an iPad to video you running then play it back in slow mo to look at your foot strike etc... As an added bonus because it’s an outlet most of the stock is seriously reduced. Mine were half price (still expensive at £50) but very comfy and great to run in. Hope that helps!
I've only seen good comments on Run and Become regarding thier gait analysis method, have not seen any negative comments about them on here!
But being as you're concerned about gait analysis methods there's these places nearby..
I think there is another running shop in Cardiff called Moti (again I haven’t been there but they have a treadmill and video gait analysis in store). The address is
The Globe Center,
Albany Road,
CF24 3PE
Motif on Wellfield Road have a great reputation
Thanks for the recommendation s. Can’t wait to get some new ‘proper’ running shoes ready for week 5!
