Hiya. I did my first day today and I feel great☺️! I wouldn’t call it a ‘run’, it was more like a jog. Do you guys have any tips on how I can actually run? Is it like this for everyone to start of with?

Welcome... great job. You’re ahead of where I was, I felt anything but great after that first run 🤣

Lots of your questions will be answered here healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and we can answer just about any others you think of, so come and talk to us often.

As for “jog”. That’s a run... In the guide you’ll read all about conversational paced running... running slower is better for us and also our development.

Enjoy your journey... you can do this.

Great! Getting started is the hardest step - jog is good! Keep it slow.

Thank you! I read running is good for mental health; I had reached a point in life where I needed that escape. 🐢🥰

Congratulations on making a start. As the weeks go on the sense of achievement and time in the fresh air can only lift your spirits. I’m sure you’ll notice a difference- good luck 😉

It's not a solution for everyone and all situations, but it definitely works for me. Keep going 👍

As someone who decided to start the Couch to 5K predominately to help with their mental health I can say it is doing the world of good. I'm on week 5 now (run 3 tomorrow) and my mood and approach to life is changing and the small things that I would stress over don't seem quite so overwhelming anymore plus the sense of achievement is something else it is hard to describe. Well done on starting and I look forward to hearing about your journey :)

Well done!! Tips that o was given and work for me are 1. go as slowly as you need to, so long as both feet are off the floor, you are running. Through the lovely people on here, I found Japanese jogging on YouTube and I'd recommend it. 2. Sip water in the hour leading up to you going out and stop 10-15 minutes before you start so you don't get the sloshing in your tummy. 3. Remember it's a journey and not a competition against anyone. 4. Try and stick to the same days for a routine. 5. One from me-enjoy each step whether starting, completing a week or anything else. I'm at the end of w5 and each completed run makes me smile a little bit more. Good luck!

I’m on my third week. I am taking it slowly and managing to keep going. There was a post that said “ snails 🐌 get there in the end. I am that snail . I’m hoping that once I can jog for 20 mins plus , then I can progress with speed. Please don’t give up. I felt daunted at running for 3 mins today but I did it

Thank you. It’s great to know that there are many more ‘joggers’ on this plan and I’m not doing something wrong. Well done with being on week 3, you should be super proud! Fingers crossed, I will also be able to jog for 20 minutes. 😁🥰

A jog is an excellent start, I was a juffle, cross between jog and shuffle, you will gradually pick up speed as the weeks progress

Thank you! I did my day 2 today and it was a juffle 😂! My legs felt so heavy.
