As I set off for run 3 week 5 I was feeling good as my runs have been revolutionised by the slow jog. Then Sarah told me I would be running for 20 minutes without stopping. It wasn’t April Fools Day and I hadn’t clicked on week 8 by mistake. Trust me she says! Then my music started playing...”Is this the real life or is it just fantasy?!” So off I go progressing with the rest of Queen’s greatest hits, laughing out loud when I got to Fat Bottom Girl!! Before I knew it, 10 minutes had passed and it was time to turn around and run the second half! Very aptly I finished as We Are The Champions started playing. My slow snail passed jog would not be considered worthy of being a champion but I cannot actually believe I am moving like this for 20 minutes without stopping!
So if you think you cannot do this, if I can you can. Slow and steady actually does win the race!

Brilliant, well done you, you absolutely nailed it! 🏅Loved, “it wasn’t April Fools Day” 🤣. Can’t believe you hadn’t noticed the near hysteria in posts on here, regarding that run before you did it! 😁 Probably better as you coped with your surprise a lot better than I would’ve in your shoes (trainers). 😂🏃♀️🐢
I did the whole of C25K without looking ahead to any of sessions. You can’t be nervous of something that you don’t know about. You are with your Trainer, who you trust not anything to hurt you. I believed in myself and the programme to get me to where wanted to be. Running for 30 minutes nonstop. I am not running consolidation runs after graduating.
I stopped running to queen when during a particularly hard hill section that I was struggling with Sheer Heat Attack began to play... thankfully a three minute walk started just after 😂
Adding the last 800m is much easier than getting to 800m was, that’s for sure! I was training for a half marathon last year and once I’d done a 10 mile run I knew I was good for race day... it was only a parkrun to add 🤣
The first pace that changed for me was my walking one... gradually my comfortable tuning one started to rise... the quick I don’t use often enough to see much change, to the extent that my 5k and 10k PBs were set accidentally while on a 10 mile easy paced run 🤣
Just a few more weeks... then you’re into a whole new world of discovery! I hate when my plan puts up 200m sprint intervals... 800m plus speed sessions are ok though.
