Looked ahead to end of week 5 and saw the jump from 8 to 20 minutes. Been dreading it since. Mid forties and no exercise since I was 16. In the intervening years I’ve been a smoker, drinker and junk food eater. I’m still keen on the last 2 in that list but just finished my 3rd run of week 5! 20 minutes! Can’t believe it. Week 1 hurt, week 2 was tricky, 3 and 4 were hard. If you’ve just started this programme and are thinking 9 weeks is no where near long enough to turn you in to a runner, stick with it -you will enjoy surprising yourself.
20 minutes - are you having a laugh? - Couch to 5K

Great job Bob... nothing to fear in any run... look what you just did! After what 4 and a half weeks... just imagine what you can do in a few months! Enjoy week 6... slow and steady in those intervals and you got this.
Well done great running and you will keep surprising yourself 😊
At last........a true believer!!!!!
Congratulations Bob22, I am glad at least you have stopped smoking among the three things that you mentioned in your post, there are a few here who plan to have a little drink after a run, in fact some have reported that they plan their graduation run or their first 5K to end outside a pub, as far as the junk food, well I was at BK today for lunch, however, I only go there once every three weeks, so I don't consider that as 'over indulging' in eating junk food.
Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks 🚶 and runs 🏃
Well done! I felt exactly the same way..it’s a great feeling of achievement isn’t it 😊 good luck with week 6 👍🏻
Well done .... it’s just an amazing plan
