I honestly thought this run was going to be a lot harder than it was. I was trying to battle the rain this early morning, however the last 10 minutes of my run I had to run covering one side of my headphones that I had put a dodgy sticker over (that obviously wasn't waterproof, don't know what I was thinking there) because some of my headphone is exposed from dropping it at some point, and safe to say I got drenched - but my headphones survived!
I definitely found that my knees are a lot more happier than usual after my run, because I made sure to not bob up and down and tried not to kick when running and that helped a lot! I had POWER by Kayne West on my last 5 min run, which is one of my go-to motivation song, so safe to say that also helped me. I saw two runners on my journey and one was wearing shorts and a t-shirt which I applaud them for because I was FREEZING!!
Oh well, onwards and upwards for run 2! Running for 8 minutes does seem slightly intimidating, but I'll definitely give it a go! 😂

Well done for running this morning, I looked at the weather forecast and opted to run last night instead. I don’t mind running in the rain, but don’t think I am dedicated enough (yet) to get out of a warm bed in the morning to go running in the rain! Don’t worry about the 8 mins, it will fly by as you can already do 5 mins.
Yeah I don't blame you haha, its painful for me every time, but I know I'm too lazy to do it at the end of the day! I checked the forecast on my phone last night and it did not predict rain for my 6am run time so I thought oh that's fine until I looked outside today, luckily I was only caught out for the last 5 min run and cool down instead of all of it 😂 Fingers crossed thats the situation, I did feel like I could go on for longer for the first 5 minutes!
Must admit it’s always a lot easier to find an excuse not to run at the end of the day. If you are running at 6am you must be motivated to do C25K so turning 5 mins into 8 will be easy. One trick I used during my runs when I thought I would give up, is to stop looking directly in front of you, but to focus on the ground a couple of metres in front of you. I find when I do this I almost zone out and that way you forget about worrying about time/distance to cover. This technique works well when you have a long straight stretch to a run and you feel like you will never get to the end of it. Just remember to look up now and again for obstacles 😂
Oh interesting ok! Will give that a go then for my next run as I do face a lot of long straight stretches within my route. I do find it helps me motivation wise definitely and it just sets up my day a lot better but I think once I’ve graduated I’d most likely do it at different times of the day (or at least if that’s realistic with going back to work when my work let’s me anyway! 😂)
Give it a go, if you don’t look up for 30 secs or so, you will be amazed how far you have gone. When I graduated I just ran when I felt like it, but it soon became too easy to skip a run for whatever reason. So for the last couple of months I have kept a Mon, Wed, Fri morning running schedule (rain permitting 😀). This really works as I now feel guilty if I miss a run. Morning runs definitely set the day up better as you say!
It’s bad that I almost feel like 5 minutes is too long of a break between because I’m not used to such a long break anymore, I’ll say that now but I’ll probably appreciate it at the time, but you never know I might actually end up doing what you say and wanting to start the second run early 😂😂
