Week 7 run 1 ✅

Even though it was ridiculously hot yesterday evening, I got out and ran. Don’t get me wrong it was hard! By the end of it my feet and ankles were numb, which is a bit weird, but I did it and that’s what matters! Any tips for when you hit a wall? I find the first ten minuets and the last 5 the hardest.

Well done! With me it is all about distractions when I hit a wall. Fast-forwarding tracks on my playlist and massively turning up the volume. Singing along to the lyrics, promising myself something spendy if I just get through this. Running might become very expensive for me! Ha!

Hahahaha! Why didn’t I think of that 😂 although maybe spending too much money isn’t such a great idea especially as I’m a student 😂🙈

Have you tried running in the morning? I find it slightly easier in the morning and less muggy. ☺️ Whenever I hit a wall (which is also the 1st ten minutes and the last 5) I try to concentrate on ANYTHING that isn’t the run itself - whether that’s what’s around me e.g. looking at people passing by, thinking about what I have to do for the day/next day, or what the podcast I listen to is really saying. I’ve found that listening to a podcast helps me engage my brain more as I run so I concentrate less on my running. I’m awful with music because I try to run to the beat. 🤣 I know it doesn’t work for my partner but it might be worth listening to a podcast or even an audiobook. 💭 Good luck, you’re not far from graduating now! 🎓 💜

Thank you! 🧡 I have tried running in the morning, but even though it’s cooler I struggle hydration and energy wise as I haven’t eaten or drank in however many hours I’ve been asleep for. I haven’t tried audiobooks yet. I’ve only just started listening to music 🙈 I did the first 5/6 weeks just listening to my heavy breathing 😂 can’t wait till I actually feel comfortable running for this sort of distance!

How’s your pace? Do you find yourself stamping your feet down? 😊

I’m not sure, my calf’s always ache, and it has been pointed out one of my foot flicks when I run. However I’m not sure the Flicky foot can be the issue as it’s both my feet and ankles that were numb
