First freedom run after C25K completion

Hi

Ran yesterday for 20 mins with no Laura / no strava and no music , simply for pleasure

Did not go as well as when Laura was talking and music playing oddly enough! Not sure why but ended quicker than 5 K

Going to wear headphones again and use Strava to hopefully help , looks like I need targets and music to help distract me and prolong my runs

Each run adds to making your Runner’s legs. I am still using C25K app W9 runs for the prompts as consolidation runs.

I thought about that and hoped I could just run 5 k or 30 mins for pleasure and be free of aids ! I will do W9 again and again

Thanks SandraY1

You could always repeat week 9, but change your trainer, I’ve just been dabbling with the app and it’s fine to do that.....just a thought

Can you help ?

How do I change from Laura to another trainer ?

Try different things: using a coach, or listening to music, or to a podcast, or focussing on what you see as you run.

Try the nike run club app guided runs H3!! They are great and I bet you will like them😀 I did the 22 minute one this morning ( their ‘run 2’) and it was brilliant!! Just been told I should be consolidating at 30/35 though so will do one of their 30 minute ones next.

Great H3! I normally do guided runs. You can still do that with music as it fades out in the guided bits. Since graduation, I’ve always used the Nike Run Club App, though lots of fellow runners use Strava. You’ll find what suits! Happy running! ❤️

Hi H3, I tried one other App when I first finished the C25K programme, but I can’t remember the name. The NRC one had so many options and I found the guided runs were the perfect transition from running with the C25K App. I think the names & details of the run, really set you up nicely to run as you please. There’s even a ‘Don’t Wanna Run’ run!! I’ve done that one too! 😂❤️

Hi Fab450 I agree- love the name of the ‘don’t wanna run, run’ one!!’Will deffo be trying that. Doing one of their 30 minute guided runs tomorrow. Loved the first one I did. I think they are like Laura from c25k on steroids 😂😂😂Whatever, they make me 😃

😂! You should have lots of fun!! I know I certainly have. Have you seen that you can build a scheduled plan to suit yourself too?

It’s a great substitute for Laura!! Enjoy!!😁❤️

I use NRC for some runs, not all the time. I like using it for slow runs and for intervals.

You could set yourself a challenge, like a hill, or have a go at a new route. Don't forget, you don't have to run for 30 minutes now. You can choose shorter or longer runs.

Hi Speedy 60

Thanks for the tips !

Wish I was speedy 😂

Numerous runners have mentioned Nike RC must be good !!

Bit of a misnomer - I'm not speedy at all. I can plod on for quite a while though, which interests me more than speed.
