Sooooo slow! But further than I’ve managed before so a good start. I think! 🥴 I set Strava to start as soon as I started running, so no walking included in the stats. Onwards and upwards!

Sounds like you wish for something different. I remember when running 60s made me whine and cry real tears.

I didn’t know you could set Strava for running only. Brilliant. Thanks.

I don’t think there’s a fancy way of doing it, I just don’t press start until I’m ready to run 🤣

Thank you. Hoping to increase both speed and distance slowly. Always swore that all I wanted to do was get to the 5k....and now I find myself browsing 10k apps...... 🤣

Can you do that? Set strava to record only the running part? Please tell me how!

I don’t know if there’s an official way, I just don’t press start until I begin to run! 😁

I do the same...Thought I had missed some sort of automatic function!

Well done, 5.1km is a fab achievement!!! the average pace also very good!! woooo hoooo!

Ah thank you! I really struggled at first with my slow pace, comparing myself to a friend who started at year before me and is very fast! I tell myself that it’s distance not speed at this stage....but secretly I want to be the hare not the tortoise!

haha yes, I know what you mean. Still, there is a cost to everything, including the speed increase.... to lower a risk of injury it is worth taking your time ☺️.

Just looked at my pal’s Strava - the last 5k she did was in 26.09 with an average speed of 5.14.....don’t think I’ll ever achieve that 🤣🐢🤣🐌

You never know!!! Time will show!!! As long as you enjoy your run, it is the most important!

Well done on the 5k. I don’t think your pace is that slow. I’m not a particularly quick runner but I’m not built for speed 😊. I was adamant I was only going to do 5k but caught the big and managed my first 10K yesterday. Didn’t think for one minute that I’d achieve it but that’s my stubbornness I suppose. Good luck with the 10K. It’s achievable but you need to build up to it. Stay safe and enjoy. 👍
