First run ๐จ
Well done I can promise you it gets easier. I started on 20th April and I really struggled with running for just 1 minute. I completed a 20 minute run on Sunday and I actually felt I could have run longer. It really does get easier and I am a complete non runner
I am a complete non runner aswell! No done much exercise in last few years but needed a change of lifestyle
I do strength training in the gym but not at the moment. Not anything super hard but I do no cardio and my cardio fitness is shocking. So I really wanted to do something about that. My running is really slow itโs not much more than a fast walk but I sure pace will come in time ๐๐ป
Well done, itโs tough when you start, but youโve taken the first step so you should feel proud...stick with it ๐
Well done on completion of the hardest run! It's taking that first step that's the hardest part. I had been putting it off for months. Follow the programme and you'll enjoy the changes. I ran for 25 minutes nonstop today. After my first run I would have said its impossible. But it is.
Well done, you should be really proud of yourself! I promise it gets easier, the hardest step was starting in the first place and youโve already done that!
Welcome HMFC1874, well done on taking the first step. I'm only a couple of weeks ahead of you, but finding the step up each week manageable. Enjoy your next run on Wednesday.
Same here
Congratulations! You really have just done the hardest bit. Hopefully this forum will provide you will the information, support, and encouragement that you need on this journey. It has greatly helped me, with everything from practical advice about stretches, what to eat and drink, or not, before a run, to encouragement when was feeling a bit overwhelmed.
Well done ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐
Well done on getting started! It gets easier (and a little bit addictive) and this forum is great for advice and support. Iโm on week 4 and I find myself feeling a bit sad on days when Iโm not running! Good luck.
Well done, I started week 3 yesterday. If youโd have asked me if I could run for 3 minutes two weeks ago when I was trying not to be sick Iโd have laughed at you. I wasnโt looking forward to the step up from week 2 to week 3, I wonโt say it was enjoyable, but it certainly was manageable. Iโm quite looking forward to the higher weeks as itโs obvious itโs a well structural plan thatโs attainable.
I did manage to put off doing the plan for 18 months for one reason or another. Glad Iโve started now. Youโll see the first benefits within around a week if my experience is anything to go by.
Hi. Firstly well done! It really does get easier. I havenโt run since I was forced to in PE at school, and that was over 30 years ago! I am now on week 6 and I canโt believe I am a runner (almost) Keep at it.
Congratulations for deciding to make a start . You did it yes, enjoy each week and each run . Remember the golden rule - slowly does it. Itโs not a race . You can repeat at any stage. Your in control of your choice of self talk yes itโs challenging, yes you might puff until you settle into a comfortable pace, yes you will improve and yes, it truly worth it .
All the best to you , you will be successful and shout out YES - I did it, at the end of W9R3 in your own time.
Well done! The first run is the best - you feel great and there's a real sense of exhilaration about it.
Well done I remember the gasping for breath and leg pains of week 1, you are in for such a treat as things slowly but surely improve, I have one more week 7 run left that's 25 minutes non stop and before you know it you will too so good luck and well done again for going for it
Great work. ๐
Thank you for the encouragement and support! Never expected this! Thank you all
Hey well done....ive recently just started to.!! got one more run on week 2 but think ill do another one or 2 before stepping up to week three as I'm a complete non runner too. So far im loving it. I never thought I'd get through wk1 so to complete wk2 run 1 was such a great feeling when you can!! Well done and hope you manage to progress well too x
Well done. A great start. Keep posting. ๐ฃ๐
Well done!! The first run is always the hardest - Iโm currently at the end of week 3 and I thought running in week 1 was going to be impossible because I had never run before and my stamina was incredibly poor - itโs a challenge but itโs all worth it in the end and youโll see the changes too! Cant wait to see your progress throughout the weeks!
