So after your encouraging words on my first post I decided to just get out and try my first run today!
I felt down hearted because I walked more of the run than I would have liked to today but my partner reminded me that the point is that I got out and got moving. With everything going on in the world it was nice to get some sun if nothing else.
I may have struggled more than I liked but I’ll get back out and try week 1 run 2 on Friday because at least then I’ve tried.
Here’s to hopefully staying determined and slowly seeing progress!

Well done for getting out and making a start on your C25k journey! The rewards are great and you will be so proud of yourself when you graduate. Your partner's comment about getting out and moving is exactly right! It is great that you have someone with such an encouraging attitude cheering you on 😊.
One little piece of advice (and in no way a criticism), would be to encourage you to complete each run section of week 1 run 1 in its entirety, before moving on to week 1 run 2. It seems minor at this point, but in the early weeks each run day sees the run sections increase in duration, so that by the end of week 2 you are running for 90 seconds, 3 minutes at the end of week 3 and 5 minutes at week 4. This will help build your fitness levels in steady increments, help you avoid injury and enable you to move on to the next week with confidence.
Hey don't be so hard on yourself .self motivation is the hardest thing ever ! And even harder at tough times like these !!! You went out you completed run exercise weather that was walking or running !!! It does not matter how you done it!! Don't give up we are all here at different levels to support each other.BE PROUD OF YOURSELF !! Xx
All of the people that have followed this plan have felt the same way you did at the start. It’s all about building up to the end of the program. Don’t beat yourself up about it. I know from when I did it I had serious doubts about whether I could complete it. Don’t let the little devil on your shoulder win the battle. YOU CAN DO THIS. If you feel as though you need inspiration or advice then there’s plenty of people on here that will give you advice and encouragement
Well done for starting, that is the most important thing, you will get there.
Hello TotalBeginner, You have taken a huge step getting out there and enjoying the sunshine too. You have set off on an exciting discovery and that is no reason to be disheartened. Take it real slow and steady and get that first run under your belt and you will be so pleased. Keep posting 🤗
