Week 7 run 1 πŸ™

Successfully ran week six run 3 although it was tiring. Two days later tried week 7 run 1 and couldn't get through it 😭 going as slow as I could, my legs just not doing it. What should I do? Feeling so down πŸ™

You should count it as an off day and a practice run. Stop being hard on yourself and just restart the week. Make sure you drink plenty and relax. It’s just little blip 😊

Thank you for the advice, I actually cried when I got home feeling so down about it! Thing is when it makes you soooo happy and proud when you do complete it, it does the opposite when you don't! I had to persuade myself to go out and run and so I didn't really want to like I normally do, which doesn't help

So your mind wasn’t in the right place to start with. It’s just an off day. Big hug, we are allowed to feel pants. Next run won’t beat you. You won’t let it. πŸ’•

Oh don't let it get you down. We all have bad days. Take a breath, have a good soak, a nice glass of wine if you fancy, take a rest day or two, and give it another bash.

Thank you! I started Joe Wicks 90 day plan last week so I don't think that helped, because I'm doing HIIT and running too, so by the time I run I'm already tuckered out, and I can't even have a chocolate bar to reward the effort πŸ˜‚

I imagine the joe works and the running combine will have been tough on you. Suggest having a couple of days rest maybe some light yoga, drink loads of water after and try again!

There's no such thing as a failed run! We all have good days and bad days. Rest and drink plenty of water, then go out and smash it! You seem to have taken on rather a lot in the exercise department :)

Thank you πŸ™Œ it was my second rest day on Joe wicks today so thought c25k would be good, but I think I'm still tired from last week!

That's a lot at once, no wonder you are so knackered. Joe Wicks is great, but you need a rest day on a rest day. We would all feel tired, if doing two fairly high intensity things back to back. Your muscles need time to repair, especially from running. Have you looked up other advice here, searched for other people doing HIIT? Most people on here seem to alternate with lower intensity stuff like yoga, pilates, walking, swimming when not running.

Thank you, this cheered me up. I've been reading up more and the advice is mostly continue with 5x HIIT a week and drop the running πŸ™ but I really want to keep going with c25k, but until I can do 5k it doesn't "replace" HIIT interns of energy used etc.

I had exactly the same issue with W7 and all I can advise is to keep trying. It took me 6 attempts before I could run the full 25 minutes. It can be done just keep trying. I graduated Friday.

That's so good to hear, thank you! When I searched week 7 here it was just everyone who was successful which is brilliant! But made me feel a little useless haha
