And we're off... W2R1

Morning folks.

Had a real rough couple of nights with my sleep. Just can't turn off with all that's going on in the world right now..

Was actually looking forward to this morning though. Got my headphones on and kitted myself out. And started off on my week 2 journey.

Had Michael in my ear pushing me today. Stepped up to 90 sec run, rather than the 60sec I done last week. Noticed the extra.. But only about 70secs in which pleased me. Has to dig deep for those last 20 secs and managed all 5 runs.

Pace is by no means quick at all, but has picked up from where I was week, with a few PB on my Strava.

Was in a dark place the last couple of days, but hand on my heart.. This is really sorting my head out. I cycle alot and I'm currently waiting on a new specialized Rockhopper 29er to come into store which should be within the fortnight. I've told myself, even when I get my bike, I'm still sticking with this running. Buzzing for the day ahead, and now off out to wash and polish the car.

Have a great day guys. X

Well done. Running really is good for clearing your head isnt it.

Be careful with those stats though. I always used to focus on them and wanting to see how well I was doing. But it can really detract and have a negative effect on the job in hand.... following the program! :-)

You'll find as you go through the weeks that you need to slow down. I found it to be a tough lesson to learn. The whole purpose of the program is to get you running for 30mins. Ignore the 5k bit. Very few people manage that.

Once you graduate, that's the time to focus on speed 'if' you want to. By that time, you mighy be more focused on distance.

Keep up the good work and happy running

I’m the same as you Marky, got a flat bar version of a Scott racer and a Ghost 26er. Can cover miles on these but running is the real challenge, great on the rest days though to just get on the bike and hit the road or trails.

Keep well, Stay strong. Keep posting.

Thanks ever so much for all the replies folks. Had a fantastic day after the run, washed and waxed my car, then a friends wifes car, then my wife's car, burnt over 5k calories today and over 20k steps! Sleeping shouldn't be a problem tonight.! 😂😂. Just full of energy after the runs, and reading your great comments just hits it home for me. Hope you all have a good week. 😎🙏
