Wow can't believe I've just finished week 6!

I've never enjoyed running and being 6st overweight it isn't easy but today I completed week 6 with a 25 minute run! When I started I struggled with the 60 second bursts and didn't even think I'd manage the 90 seconds, then never thought I'd be able to run 5 minutes and so on, still can't quite believe I ran for 25 minutes today. It wasn't easy and the sweat was pouring off me. Does it get any easier? Has anyone lost weight whilst doing the C25K?

Great run! Very well done. Are you starting to believe in yourself yet? Little spoiler for you... you’ll be able to run any distance/duration that you want to, because you’re awesome.

Running in itself isn’t a weight loss activity, but if you tweak your nutrition it forms a formidable team on that journey. What running will do for you is tone you up... my daughter lost two dress sizes here, but weighed much the same.

Does it get easier? Kind of! Right now every run is either pushing the limits of your endurance or adding to the weekly load on your legs, so the plan remains challenging. After C25K you can take some time to do the recommended consolidation, which is best done until you feel it getting easier. The act of running does get easier of course... just imagine what you’d do to W1R1 now! After you’ve graduated, and consolidated, why not try a 15-20 minute run at your usual pace and see just how easy that has become? You’ll be amazed.

Enjoy week 7... those runs add to the weekly load on your legs rather than pushing your endurance up... it can feel tough, so remember to start slow and steady each time.

Happy running.

Well done.

When you can run for 30 minutes in a few weeks time, the early weeks will seem very easy.

loads of people lose weight while doing C25k, but not without addressing diet......C25k is not a weight loss plan.

Amazing work, well done! I'm midway through week 5 and am down a stone but I also changed my eating habits so that probably has quite a bit to do with it.
