Yep, just done week 6 run 3 too. I know what you mean! :)

One thing I'm puzzling about: I always find the first bit hard, like the first 5 mins. All sorts of minor aches and pains, and I feel stiff like a zombie or something. I'm fine certainly by 10 mins, and by 25 mins I was feeling like I could do another 25 mins.

I wonder about the 5 minute warm up walk: I don't think it does anything much for me except give me time outdoors getting cold. Maybe I should change it to super-slow jog? I do dynamic stretches before every run, so I leave the house fairly warmed up.

the first 5 - 10 minutes do seem hardest then you get into it some how strange

Great feeling isn't it ned63? Most of us started as fairly reluctant runners but have got hooked as C25K progressed! Keep up the good work.

And Julia321 - sometimes the first 10 minutes or so does feel like a struggle. Can't get your foot fall or breathing rhythm right, it's too windy/too hot/too cold/too wet etc.....but if you keep moving you find yourself having slipped into the mood and it all gets better. And if you're stretching before you go out the warm up walk isn't warming up the muscles in the same way so you'd probably be better off raising your heart rate slightly by a bit of light exercise.

Thanks! The dynamic stretches do actually get my heart rate much higher than brisk walking and take me a good few minutes to do (I do these ones: runnersworld.com/stretching.... I think if I'm feeling good next run, I might try a little bit of very light jog for part of the 5 minutes "walk" to see if that works OK. Getting very cold these mornings!
