Been using the couch to 5k app but it keeps cutting out in the middle or runs/walks does anyone else have this problem?

Couch to 5k app!
Jo Whiley only abandoned me once - the app has been fine the rest of the time
I graduated two years ago and the app has been tweaked since but FWIW I had issues and they stopped once I started putting the phone in flight mode for the duration of the run. It seemed as if the app was being paused by incoming calls or texts. The app itself does not need an Internet connection to work as once it’s downloaded everything it needs is already on your phone.
I will try this thank you! I have downloaded the actual podcast onto my phone to try but I like the app as you can play own music so will definitely try flight mode see how I get on thanks!
Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
The app is buggy. There is a link to the more reliable podcast version in the guide.
Enjoy your journey.
I have had this twice once in the first week & again today. Luckily I knew when I had to run again & when to stop as it is a familiar route & I turn back when the bell goes.
At the expense of having to listen to music selected for you, it might be worth downloading the MP3s instead of relying on the app. I graduated a while ago when the MP3s were the way to go and they worked fine for me - the music is varied and bearable ;-).
I think if you open your music after you have started it can cut out?
Hi, I had exactly the same problem, and there were so many different suggestions as to the cause, none of which helped in my case, that I just abandoned the app, and downloaded the individual mp3 podcasts for each week instead. These all worked fine, and also had music playing for each segment, unlike the app, which just has silence, in order for you to use your own music. Plus if needed, can just go back to a previous run easily if you want to repeat one, as they are all on seperate MP3 files.
Yes. I do. Every session, and it means I have to try to get back to where it leftnoff while running. Very annoying. 😠
