Anyone got any recommendations for good running headphones? Currently doing all my runs in silence, but would like to have something to listen to rather than just my own breathing 🙈 the apple ones don’t stay in my ears when running, so any other suggestions would be appreciated!

I have the same problem but with any type of earbud staying in my ears and actually destroyed one bud from each of 2 sets of wireless earbuds in 8 weeks of the C25K plan when they fell out. One landed in a puddle and the second got scuffed by a car tyre and split :-(

I have an answer - I bought an elasticated headband to hold my hair back but I actually wear it so that it also cover my earbuds (I'm running now with the Apple wired ones that come with the phone as I can't figure out what to buy and am gutted to have broken 2 sets) and it works a treat. Has the added bonus of keeping my ears warm too.

Think I'm going to have to resort to earbuds with over ear hooks or a neck wire so at least if they work loose they won't go rolling into puddles or the paths of cars. Looked at After Shokz but not sure bone conduction is what I want and don't really want over ear "cans" either.

I'd find it difficult to run without some form of distraction - I discovered food podcasts in about week 6 and love to run and listen to food chat. Must work as I've run a PB today in my 3rd consolidation run since graduation - 5k in 33min 54 seconds!

Interested to see any other suggestions but for now the trust headband is doing a good job.

I have but they’re old and the battery doesn’t hold charge. Just ordered myself a pair of Beats sport which have over ear hooks and a cable holding them together so fingers crossed!

Hi, I bought a pair of AfterShokz bone conducting headphones, but they are very pricey!😳 Having said that, they are very light and comfortable to wear and easy to use. It’s quite an investment but I don’t regret it. If you want to enter events at some stage you can normal use that type, as you can still hear traffic etc. as your ears aren’t covered. Don’t ask me how that works, but it does!🙂👍

I have fairly inexpensive wireless ones from Amazon with a strap around the neck and curved pieces that fit in my ears - the key for me is wearing a headband to keep them in my ears - I can not move without music so essential kit for me.

Hi, I run with the Jabra elite sport earbuds, these are pretty good as they have an in built heart rate monitor as well, so once paired with your phone they work a bit like a Fitbit. Jabra app is quite good as it logs all your runs and tells you if you are improving or not. Only downside is that these earbuds are quite big but they seem to fit well and they certainly don’t move, the other downside is that you get a slight clicking noise when the heart rate monitor is running - but I soon tune out from that as I am too busy panting by then!

I have an iPhone and use AirPods- rather pricey but brilliant!! They don’t hurt or fall out, and you can turn the volume up to ear splitting levels if you want to 😂

I use SoundPeats TrueFree wireless earbuds. Around £30, sound is brilliant, and they've not fallen out yet! Was using wired ones before but I found myself getting tangled up so I much prefer my current ones. Hope you find some :)

I also have a pair of aftershokz. They are brilliant. So light weight and stay in place.

Expensive but worth it .....bose inear buds. They come with three different silicone fittings. I got mine at factory price..... possibly used before, but iI saved £60. No wires, work on Bluetooth. Really easy and comfortable

Thank you everyone! Decided to bite the bullet and get the AfterShokz ones, I like the idea of being able to hear what is happening around me. Fingers crossed they are good 🤞🏼

I use Aftershokz as well, Treks Air in my case. Not cheap, as has been said. It’s a safety thing for me because I can still hear my surroundings. But now I wear them at home as well: they are so comfortable that I couldn’t tell you where my other headphones are right now.
