Headphone advice ...

New to this running game and I’ve yet to run to music. Main reason is I’m scared about the cost of running headphones. Can anyone recommend a pair that won’t fall out / off for around £50?

I have wireless ones that came in just under £20. They are TaoTronics... they work fine and have six hours of charge...

I've only ever run with the ear pieces that came with my iPod and phone with no real issues, they do seem to stay put. I only put one in too, to make sure I can hear what us going on around me. Mind you since I graduated I generally only use them for my long run, the rest of the time I run 'naked'

I found the bluetooth ones fell out. But I bought a "bluetooth beanie" for about £7 off ebay which is fine in the cold. Otherwise I use whatever cheap wired ones are lying about--the ones that came with my Sansa clip and the "apple shape" are pretty good.

I tried some "bone transmission" headphones in a running shop today which were awesome but way over budget.

My previous single eared ear piece stopped working a while ago. I have profound hearing loss in one ear so only listen to music in my good ear, hence the single ear. I wasn't able to replace it with a similar one so tried these.

I went for a cheaper pair thinking that if I couldn't get on with them I wouldn't have lost too much money. I clip the spare earpiece under my vest strap as I don't use it, and the other one stays in my left ear perfectly. The sound quality is pretty good. I have yet to decide whether to risk cutting off the spare earpiece. :-)

Use any earphones, use a buff or headband to keep them in place if necessary. But to be honest Ive never had much of a problem with them falling out.

I’ve tried several types and ended up with sports ones (they have a hook over the ear) cheap enough on Ebay/Amazon and they never move. Perfect. X

I have some Doy Bluetooth ones off of amazon. They’re pretty good though they do seem to amplify outside sounds a bit (like wind noise etc) but they stay in really well.

I had this debate and decided to treat myself to fancy earbuds when I finish the programme. For the time being I’ve just used the ones that come free with my iPhone. Instead of leaving the wire loose it is better to have it under my top and up out of the neck. Less swinging and never an issue :) Probably wont bother with the fancy ones now and spend the money on some lairy clothing instead.

Hi. I use the Taotronics ones too and they are great. No problems at all and easy to use. Under £20 on Amazon

Mine cost me £3.99 from Lidl and they're every bit as good as the Sony ones. They have flat cords whch don't get tangled up and came with a choice of earbuds, which actually fit my small ear'oles. They also come in different colours. Mine are pink

I have had them for absolutely years. No probs.

You can wear a headband around your ears. Keeps your earphones in place and your ears warm at the same time.

Amazon basics sports over ear wired ones for me. Tuck cables inside clothes or in phone arm holder. I have really narrow ear canals and even the smallest buds are too big. I ram them in and a piece of micropore tape over the top keeps them in place. Mine still going strong after 300 miles use in all weathers.

Safety first - keep one ear empty so you can hear what is going on around you (traffic, fans cheering, fierce dogs approaching...)

I used to use cheap ordinary earbuds, no problem. Now I don't use anything, I like to be alone with my thoughts 😉

I bought Kitsound Ribbons in ear wireless ones from Tesco. They are showing at 25 just now but I paid 20 or poss even 15 on offer in January. I've had no problems with them. Good sound too👍😊
