I’ve just found this forum and I’m really grateful for all of the help, chat and advice to be found. I never thought I would be able to do this as I have always said I wouldn’t even run to catch a bus I’d just wait for the next one to come!
I’m currently W4R1 and my partner bought me some Skullcandy Indy Earbuds which I have to stop and retrieve when they decide to pop out especially on road runs, treadmill not so bad.
I’m looking for some good ones when I upgrade I seem to have very small ear canals 🙄
Thank you in advance.

I received Lypertek Tevi as a present, mainly so I listen to my ipad without dusturbing others. I use them for C25K and they're excellent. Fully waterproof and not silly money.
I keep seeing AfterShokz bone conductor headphones recommended on a Facebook running forum. They don't go in your ear at all, but sit on the bone outside. One of the benefits is that you can still hear ambient noise- like a bus coming up behind you. Apparently, a downside is a little noise leakage, but if you're not in a confined space, like a tube train, it shouldn't be a problem.
I bought a pair of AfterShokz second-hand on ebay and I think they're great! Someone else recommended a cheaper alternative on Amazon, see link below, but I cannot vouch for them personally as I don't have a pair.
I finally succumbed and bought some in my sports shop’s sale. They’re fantastic. Run without fear of not hearing traffic, wear them in the house and hear stuff like someone at the door or demands for tea in bed! My only gripe is with fiddly control buttons for big fingers.
I have the same problem, and my ears would quickly hurt even using the smallest rubber grommets. I read about bone conductor earphones as it’s good to hear some ambient noise when running (for safety reasons), but didn’t want to pay the high price of Aftershokz. I found these on Amazon, and managed to get in the sale after Xmas, but still worth the full price imo, as they are brilliant:
Following Wenderwoo's recommendation a couple of days ago I bought myself a set of these from Amazon and they arrived yesterday. I've not tried them in full C25K action yet, but me being me couldn't just leave them in the box until Saturday morning. I've had a little go with them this morning at (quiet) work and they seem brilliant! I think I'll need to have the volume on maximum (it would be a disaster if I didn't hear Laura telling me it was time to slow down to a walk), but having never tried bone conducting headphones before it was an interesting experience. I'm also looking forward to not having the cable running down the neck of my coat & T shirt and then back up to the pocket in my joggers where I carry my phone, that's always a bit of a faff to get right too. (Another advantage of this is if I do need to adjust the volume when I go out, removing my phone from my pocket will be a lot easier without having the earphone cable attached).
Hey Alast, glad you like them so far. I just wanted to point out that you can adjust the volume with buttons on the headphones, so no need to get your phone out at all. It takes a bit of getting used to feeling for the correct button, but once you’ve got it sussed then bingo 👍😁
Hi Wenderwoo. I have spotted the (tiny) volume buttons on the headphones but think they could be a challenge to my dexterity and thumb thickness fingers! The ones on my phone are a bit bigger...
So I've just been for my run and the eartonebones (or whatever they're called)) 🤣) were brilliant. Thank you so much for the recommendation. I've also changed from the podcast to the app and can now play my own playlist - anither fab tip from this site! Thank you.
