So I went out tonight on my 3rd consolidation run and it was mixed. Here’s why -
I managed to run further up THE hill than I have done before. Yay!
I developed a stitch early on so had to slow down and walk some bits - only running 23 minutes out of the 30. Any tips on stitches? It’s my first since starting the programme so was a bit unexpected.
Someone in a van drove slowly past me 3 times and I felt a tad vulnerable. I’ve never felt like that when running before.
My pace is getting faster. Probably due to person in the van. Whoop!

Okay if it happens again I’ll try to keep on running and take it really slow.
I’ve never felt unsafe before and it was probably something perfectly innocent - like a lost delivery driver, but it unnerved me. I did go out a little later than normal so will stick to my usual in future 👍🏼
Don’t let the hill get you! I had one on my route when I first started and I hated it! I struggled and it’s only now nearly 2 years later I’m getting over it. I’m sure it’s no bigger than others I’ve managed but it was THAT hill and got into my head!! 😆 congratulations on your progress and don’t worry if you have to walk at times - I did when Sarah wasn’t there to nag me!!
During one of the earlier weeks Jo told me there is some evidence that a stitch is linked to not drinking enough water, so check your hydration levels maybe. And well done on completing and consolidating! Can’t wait to finish hopefully on Monday
Oooh good luck for Monday! And you might be right about the water as I didn’t drink enough yesterday. I tried the breathing the opposite way technique and that helped a bit 👍🏼
