A mixed run ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

So I went out tonight on my 3rd consolidation run and it was mixed. Hereโ€™s why -

I managed to run further up THE hill than I have done before. Yay!

I developed a stitch early on so had to slow down and walk some bits - only running 23 minutes out of the 30. Any tips on stitches? Itโ€™s my first since starting the programme so was a bit unexpected.

Someone in a van drove slowly past me 3 times and I felt a tad vulnerable. Iโ€™ve never felt like that when running before.

My pace is getting faster. Probably due to person in the van. Whoop!

Well done on your run. ๐Ÿ‘

A stitch usually means you're pushing too hard and not getting enough oxygen to your muscles. Slow down and breathe deeply. ๐Ÿ‘

Aaah that makes sense. It happened just after Iโ€™d tackled the hill. Thanks for the top tip ๐Ÿ™‚

Well done on post graduation run. Shame about stitch. I had one early one and just had to slow through it and slow down breathing.

Evening running can be bit odd. I live in London and I do stick to well lit places.

Okay if it happens again Iโ€™ll try to keep on running and take it really slow.

Iโ€™ve never felt unsafe before and it was probably something perfectly innocent - like a lost delivery driver, but it unnerved me. I did go out a little later than normal so will stick to my usual in future ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Sounds good and probably someone lost! Enjoy your next run. ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŒˆ

Donโ€™t let the hill get you! I had one on my route when I first started and I hated it! I struggled and itโ€™s only now nearly 2 years later Iโ€™m getting over it. Iโ€™m sure itโ€™s no bigger than others Iโ€™ve managed but it was THAT hill and got into my head!! ๐Ÿ˜† congratulations on your progress and donโ€™t worry if you have to walk at times - I did when Sarah wasnโ€™t there to nag me!!

Yes THE hill is not even that steep but it bloody feels it when Iโ€™m running. I will conquer it! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Same here - itโ€™s a relatively short incline!! Not a โ›ฐ. ๐Ÿคฃ

During one of the earlier weeks Jo told me there is some evidence that a stitch is linked to not drinking enough water, so check your hydration levels maybe. And well done on completing and consolidating! Canโ€™t wait to finish hopefully on Monday

Oooh good luck for Monday! And you might be right about the water as I didnโ€™t drink enough yesterday. I tried the breathing the opposite way technique and that helped a bit ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
