Just completed this run tonight. My calves felt like lead. Even my thighs were hurting and I never have problems with them. The breathing was great, no problems there thankfully. I plodded on and got through it. By the end I probably could have gone longer which feels great ;-)

Looking forward to the next one.

Well done! Sometimes Week 6 can be a bit of a jolt after the positive end to W5.

Go you 😀

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

Even though it was horrible you could have gone on? That is good to hear, thank you!

Congrats! Sounds like your journey is going great

I finished this run yesterday too and like you found my legs heavy but did push through. Was weary of people saying it can catch you out after Wk5 so had given myself 3 days rest in between but still struggled a bit. Still, don't expect these runs to be always easy/comfortable, that's part of the challenge. Good luck going forward

Likewise with ankles and calves hurting like week 1 although no breathing problems, persevered and things settled down but today is run 3 for me so well see, is a surprise after the 20 minute success of last week, goodluck all the sun's out here so more sunbathers to avoid although they're legal now 😎
