How did it take you 25 mins to run for 20??? Was that a typo? Whatever speed you are doing is fine - forget about speed. Hardly anyone makes it to 5k in 30 minutes! Just enjoy the progress and what you've achieved week on week.

That included my 5 minute warm up walk. Thank you for your response

I go slow and steady. I’ve just got in from the same run as you- my pace is 7.14km p/hr. that’s come down steadily since I started C25K- it was up in the 8’s before. It’s not about pace just going for the duration. Well done! 👍

As Fionamags says, a 20 minute run is not a 25 minute run.

Have you ever thought that other runners are fitter and more experienced than you.

You do not arrive at being an effortless gazelle without building strength, stamina and efficiency, which all take time.

If you are running as fast as you can while still being able to speak clear, ungasping sentences, then you are running at the best possible pace for your body to adapt and develop........who knows, maybe into an effortless gazelle.

The Olympics have been pushed back, so there is plenty of time to work on speed.

You ran for 5 extra minutes? Why?

As for slow? Who cares? Really... who cares? Watch this:

I was running the other night and this lovely long-limbed slim young lady loped past me with a smile on her face and disappeared along the road and around the next bend about a quarter mile distant.

Yes, I was wishing I could "run like that" as I kept up my shuffling, staggering, lurching, gasping progress.

And then when I got around the bend in the road - there she was, bent double and inhaling air like a one lunged Walrus in an unlit gas oven.

Dunno how far she'd run, maybe her first time out, maybe an Ultra-Runner.

As I went by she managed to gasp out

"Good for you man - keep on keeping on".

Me - I didn't have breath to reply with more than a strangled "Thanks"

We were both Runners. That's all that counts :)

Not sure it matters how slow you are as long as you complete the 30 minutes. Well done for getting this far 👍🏻
