You run .. it is your run..:)

You run it in your own time and at your own comfortable pace...and as long as you are running comfortably and enjoyably that is all that matters.

No one on here will tell you, that you are moving too slowly...and the pace you run at can not be compared to anyone else and their run times...

Your bar code works for any park run..

It doesn't matter what speed you do it, as long as you're doing it 😊

You have run a number of 5ks at a sustainable pace now- well done!

It is only a couple of weeks since you graduated so please be patient. Have a look at the pinned posts for ideas about post graduate running.

There are a number of ways to increase speed, including interval training, the follow on podcasts and just continuing to build on strength and stamina. You seem to be running 5k every time. How about mixing it up a little bit. Do some longer slower runs and some shorter quicker ones. Most of all; have fun!

You can run 5k!!!!

Be proud, most people cannot do that.

Your pace is your pace, mine is mine and Mo Farah can run too........ comparison is pointless, as we are all different ages and genders with a whole host of fitness levels and physical issues to deal with.

Speed will increase with strength over time.

You are doing great - it makes no difference if it takes you 25 mins or 50 mins - it’s crossing the line that matters

Your race your pace .. and 5K is 5k whether it's 25 min or 50 min ..

It takes time for your body and muscles to grow stronger so don't be so hard on yourself..

Well done on your 5K 😁😁

No such thing as too slow... it’s keeping you fit and that’s what running is really about. No matter how many people are on the run, you only compete against yourself, and even then not on every run.

Anyone who can run 5K is a hero. As to the rest Helenwheels said what I would say. Above all be happy with your running.

I know what you mean about wanting to be faster; I want to run faster too (I am slower than you) but I think you should stop and think how much you've achieved and how fantastically you are doing. You can run 5k! You have the stamina and self-discipline to work hard and run regularly! You are doing brilliantly!

Pause and feel proud of what you are doing, and keep doing it. I think your speed is bound to improve as you run and keep running. Slow and steady progress works wonders.

Blimey, that's slow. Mo Farah did the GNR in about that time :-)

Seriously, running attracts everyone from teenagers to the more experienced in years, from recreational runners to professional athletes, and the lithe toned runners to us more overweight runners. So it is pretty pointless for us to talk about fast or slow. It is fast or slow for you.

Completing 5km in 50 minutes is an achievement. Next time you run, if it takes 1 hour then you can be disappointed. But if it takes 48 minutes, we'll all celebrate with you. I checked my local parkrun times: at 50 minutes you would not be last at Newbury.
