Strava advice pls

Ive just completed week 8, run 2 and I decided to download Strava for todays run. I was hoping to separate out the running and walking segment times. I chose the auto pause setting for running but it didnt work, maybe cos I carry my phone in a waistband holder? Im trying to avoid having to start the app at the end of the 5 min walk but maybe thats impossible? Does anyone have another app that might work better on recording the run part only? Any advice much appreciated 🙂

I used Strava all the way through including the walking sections as just wanted the total distance covered. This I used to give me an idea on how far I travelled in the time available. I think you can pause the run when you start walking then resume the run when you start again.

I use Active Couch to 5k app as it records walk time and speed separately to run time.

Hi PP77,

I didn’t started using STRAVA until W9R1.2.& 3.

I started my STAVA just before the end of my 5 mins warm-up . It worked for me , giving me every .5 k along with Michael and music from PODRUNNER 148 beats per minute .

I know it sounds a lot however , I was able to distinguish between the three .

After graduation ( I’m currently week 4)

I continue to use STRAVA for tracking and repeat my PODRUNNER 148 to keep me steady .

I’m not after time , I’m actually after improving my stamina . I know this will take time and I’m ok with this . I aim to enter 5K runs under C25K registration as they requested .

All the best with how STRAVA works for you . 🐾

If you want to record only your runs, start the tracker when you start running and stop it when you stop running.
