Hi everyone, I completed Wk5 Run 3 on Monday and I was feeling very pleased with myself as I never thought I'd be able to run at all between the breathing and weak ankles.
I went out this morning for Wk6 Run1, thinking 2x5mins and 1x8 run would be easy after the last one.
How wrong was I.... I struggled with my breathing and l my knees ( which I've had no problem with until today)
I dare not peek at what run2 has in store ☹☹

Hi, I know exactly what you mean. I've just finished W6 and found R1&2 difficult, which I didn't expect having run the 20 min epic marathon at the end of W5! I approached W6R3 therefore, with some trepidation. To my surprise (and relief!), I found it by far the easiest session of the week and the only one I actually enjoyed! I think it might be because you just settle into it and you're not constantly expecting a voice in your ear telling you to stop. Persevere and have confidence in the programme. You will be fine and at the end of Week 6, you will officially be A RUNNER!!!! 😀
This week has caught a few folk out...but just relax and move on gently... keep it slow and steady.. trust the programme; the structure of each week is different... to move on we have to accept each week as it comes.
Don’t be too down hearted, think back to week 1 and how far you’ve come and how much you’ve achieved. We all have bad days, as someone said, if it was easy everyone would be doing it. Put it behind you, treat it as a practice run and stay positive, maybe slow your pace a little, slow and steady wins the race. Good luck 👍
Me too 😣 I did Wk 6 Run 1 yesterday and had read loads of posts saying it catches you out so made sure to go slow and not be cocky cause I'd run 20 mins lol, I did it but was hard and was more out if breath. Reading alot of posts people seem to be happier on the longer runs so we only have one more run with breaks then its all long runs from then on and fingers crossed they are right 🤞😂
Yes, I was exactly the same I did 6R1 on Monday and was quite depressed after thinking I'd done ok for 5R3 ! Today I did run2 and it wasn't as bad I'm glad to say, even found myself relaxing for a few minutes and thinking I was enjoying it !! Hang on in there it's going to be ok !!
