Cause for concern?

Since lockdown I’ve been able to run more than ever 😊 Running every other day for about 30 mins -sometimes with the dog for her daily walk!

Today I felt real twinges in my lower back just above my left hip -so stopped running and continued on usual route walking Tried running after it seemed to ease but had to stop again Managed to complete ‘run’ by walking though did run final .5km twinge free - any ideas?

Maybe... maybe not, it’s difficult to tell. In general rest any pain and if it persists seek medical advice.

If you’ve no history of lower back pain, how’s your core strength? Bridges and planks can help a lot... also strengthening above and below the area concerned, so some quads/glutes work and a little upper body stuff. Strength and Flex is a good place to start, we have a forum here too.

Perhaps it is because you are running more?

Perhaps your shoes are not up to it?

Shoes should be fine Bought from a specialist running shop

Could be build up off more running

Same thing happened today but eased so I was able to run the whole route 🙂

Do you hold your dog's lead in one hand and does she pull or cause you to twist your spine? Just a thought.
