Hardest run of the week and good old Michael in my ear telling me how i should be building up stamina now 🤪. It was hot out there and i know you experience people are going to say keep hydrated! Not sure how i will manage 5 mins on Monday. 🤔

You will! Laura my coach tells me if you've done W3 then she promises you can do it! I was prepared to repeat week 3, but I found energy from somewhere to do the 5 mins albeit slowly, twice. Good luck!

It was hot out there... that’s probably the issue... and it’s not only hydration that’s suspect... your body is already working harder to keep you cool before you run, so there’s a little less available energy for the run itself, and of course you’re then producing more heat... it can get tough. I’ve done a HM in the last six months, and yet my midday heat 5k the other day was really hard to finish... like you though, I got there! Very well done.

I’m told it’s going to be cooler after today, but running earlier or later in the day to avoid the heat is only going to be helpful. They say that the ideal running temperature is 45 Fahrenheit and it’s been 10 above that by 7am this last couple of weeks.

You’re ready to do 5 minutes... hopefully you can find the right conditions to make it more comfortable.

Great job completing a third of this plan!

Thanks for the positive thoughts. I usually run earlier but slept in!! Running later is not really an option. The later in the day the less likely i will be to get out there! Week 4 here i come.

I’m the opposite... I can’t function without lots of tea on a morning so I run later, especially important as public conveniences are currently closed, which is inconvenient 🤣

Well done, you did it.

As a runner you need to drink 2.5 -3 litres of fluid each and every day, running or not, as mentioned in the guide. healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
